Foreign Language Proficiency Examinations (FLPE)

To earn a UF degree, students must meet the requirements of their major and college in addition to the university’s foreign language requirement for admission.  Students may demonstrate that they are ready for an advanced foreign language course or that they are fluent in a foreign language (and thus meet UF foreign language requirements) by taking one of 53 different foreign language examinations at Academic Resources.  ( Go here to see the complete list of language exams available.)  FLPE exams evaluate skills in the areas of listening comprehension, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammatical accuracy.  Course credit hours are not granted; but with a sufficiently high score, the University of Florida will accept the exam as proof of proficiency in that language.  Visit here for additional information about the language examinations at UF and for registration.
